Our month started out with Paul back in the emergency room. During the night, he was experiencing some chest pains. He couldn't find a comfortable position to sleep as the pain seemed to increase even after taking both Ibuprofen and Tylenol. At about 3:00 in the morning, we decided we better go to the emergency room just to be safe. After running all the necessary tests - EKG, blood, and x-ray - it was determined that it was not his heart for which we were very relieved. We decided it must have been a muscle issue as he had lifted a lawn mower into and out of the truck that day. Our diagnosis was probably correct as the pain occurred another time when he shoveled snow and carried large items from Costco down to the basement. His abdomen muscles aren't quite back to their full capacity since the surgery.
Aria's gymnastic meets were another part of our month. We attended her second meet that was held in American Fork . We were sad when she fell off the beam but so proud of her when she got right back up and finished her routine. Aria works so hard and is getting better with each meet. She did get a medal for her vault. We didn't go to her next meet that was held in Salt Lake as the weather was threatening snow. Aria did really well medaling in her vault and bars. Her team also won the meet.
Aria's gymnastic events then took us to St. George at the end of the month. We traveled to St. George on Thursday and had dinner at Don Padro's with Ryan and Katie and their family. On Friday, we went to the Redcliff's Temple and then met Todd and Kailee at Thunder Junction or what the kids call 'the dinosaur park'. We all met at Ryan's home that night for a spaghetti dinner and to just hang out. The girls loved being in their hot tub while Ryan and Todd played basketball on the sport court. The next morning was Aria's meet in Hurricane. Ryan's family came to watch, too. Aria did pretty well, taking first in vault with her team winning the meet. It was a short trip but a much needed get away to the warmer weather of St. George.
BYU basketball was in full swing this month. We attended several home games, even coming home right after Aria's meet in St. George so we could be at the game against West Virginia. The BYU team has been on a winning streak which has been fun to watch. They seem to be peaking at just the right time for the upcoming Big 12 tournament in Kansas City.
Our Relief Society held a service project this month. It was a part of helping Emily Altman provide them for the Hospice patients she works with. I made and stuffed several pillows on my own and took them to the home where others were being made. It felt great to be a part of this special service.
Deon and I attended a baby shower for Jenny Richards, Don and Dana's daughter in law. I was glad that we made the effort to be there. It was a lovely affair with lots of food and beautiful decorations. It was especially fun to visit with family - Dana, Kathy Bulkeley, and Ashely, Dana's daughter. Jenny is due in May and looks darling.
That next week, Don and Dana came to Heber to spend a couple of days. They stayed with Deon and Gary but came to our home for dinner on that Tuesday night. I served lime chicken tacos, which were a big hit. We had a great time visiting. The next afternoon, we all went to the movies in Provo. We saw The Unbreakable Kid which was a heartwarming and uplifting movie, a rarity these days. After the movies, we went to Texas Roadhouse for an early dinner. We were supposed to go the the Fuller's later that night to watch the BYU basketball game but we decided not to go as we were leaving for St. George the next morning and needed to get some things done.
That about does it for this month of February except for the monthly memes......
And on a more important note:
